I, Robot Movie Summary and Review

The main characters for the movie are: Sonny the robot, Del Spooner the detective, Dr.Suzan Calvin, and Dr. Alferd Lanning designer for the NS-5 robots. The movie takes place in 2035 Chicago, where robots rome the planet obeying their human master. All following the basic laws:

1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2) A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Dr.Alferd Lanning, creator of the NS-5 robots and the robotic laws, has died and Detective Spooner is on the investigation. Spooner believes that a robot has killed the amazing doctor so he searches his lab and he finds a robot named Sonny. Sonny happily attacked Spooner and Dr.Calvin, which means he is not programmed with the robotic laws. Sonny was a threat to all human life. As Spooner investigates he finds out that all NS-5 robots have a choice to obey the laws or not. The robots went out of control and started attacking humans and the police station. Spooner and Dr.Calvin get to U.S.R (the company that owns the robots) ,and with the help of Sonny, figure out that VICKI another robot system has got the robots under her control. She believes that to save humanity, you must give up some human lives. But they eventually destroy VICKI and the NS-5 are back under control. U.S.R send the NS-5 to a ruined yard to be taken away.

The main idea of the movie never put to much trust in to technology.

I,Robot Movie Questions

1) If VICKI is programmed with the 3 laws how can she make robots ignore the laws and kill humans?
VICKI has a choice to follow the laws or completely ignore them.

2) When Spooner was in the tunnel and two NS-5 robot trucks came in and boxed him, who was responsible for that?
VICKI did! Robertson (U.S.R CEO) was merely annoyed with Spooner for continuing to investigate the robots.

3) What are the laws of robotics?
1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2) A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

4)When did the movie take place?
2035

5)Where did the movie take place?
2032 Chicago, United States of America (U.S.A)

I give I,Robot 3 stars. My reasoning for giving the movie 3 stars is because, some parts of the movie was hard to understand, such as the rending of the movie. The actors did a great job with their acting and stunts. One thing i loved about this movie was the action and the robots. The robots looked so realistic, you would actually believe they were real. The action was great with all the high jumps, the fighting and gunshots. The final battle against the robots was really good, the bravery they showed to stand up to wild robots.

Rodney Brooks says robots will invade our lives

In this TED video Rodney Brooks showed the intelligence, interactions and emotions of robots. For example  when the KISMET robot was told he was doing bad, he lowered his head in shame. When the robot was having a conversation with another person he was focused and followed the eye direction of the human and kept up with the conversation while making eye contact. Two piece of  information i found interesting is the fact that a robot can keep up a conversation and not just drop out of it or get confused but can actually say real English words. The emotions that the robot showed was very interesting to me, considering the fact that a robot is a man-made machine but can show emotion like any other human is very interesting to me. It show happiness and shame like any other human in this world. They are just like humans in a way. But one question remains: will these robots try to take over our lives? Once they figure out they are more devolved than us, in certain ways. Well that is something that we will have to wait to find out.

The Origins of Halloween

Typical Halloween activities include include trick-or-treating attending costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. The word "Halloween" comes from the word All-Hallows-Eve wich mean All-Saints-Day, becuase it was the one day where spirit scould walk on Earth and communicate with the living. Halloween is celbrated on October 31st while All-Saints-Day is celbrated on the following day, November 1st. UNICEF stands for United Nations Children's Fund. Halloween is related to UNICEF beacuse UNICEF has a fund rasing program called trick-or-treat, this program has raise over $188 million dollars (US). Three Halloween related attractions are Fright Night, which is a night full of scary events such as the deaad, wizards and much much more. Ghost Ride at Stanley Park in another famous attraction, it is a ride on a train through the forest where no one knows whats awaiting for them. This blog is about Square. Square is a device that you can connect to any Apple IOS device or Andriod device. You simnply connect your Square to your device and sacn your credeit card to buy whatever you wanted. The Square can be usede for oth home and business. When is this product coming out? Well it is aid that Square would be coming out in all Apple stores in a week only for $10, making it easily affordable. This launch was in Vancouver. Why would people want to buy the Square? Wel, the Square is easily poratble and is smaller than other machines you could scan your credt cards through plus it is great for home and buissness plus it is only $10 in Apple stores!

Something I found intersting about this article is how small the square is and how much it can achive. It is smaller than anyother credit card scanner plus it is only 10 dollars in all Apple stores starting next week.

Something i did not understand about the article is when is the Square coming out? in the article i tonly says that it comnes out sometime next week.

This article is about Apple`s newest creation iPad Mini and iMac. What is the iPad Mini? Well the iPad Mini is a iPad but only skinner and thinner than iPad. The iPad Mini is said to have a beautiful 7.9 inch screen, over 275,000 apps in the app store and ultrafast wireless. The new iPad is 23% thinner and 53% lighter than the iPad. Making iPad mini 7.2 mm and 0.68lb. The iPad Mini has been released on October 4 2012.  You can find the new iPad in the apple store and many other electronic stores. Why would people want to buy the new iPad? Well people want to buy the iPad because it is smaller and easier to hold, it is fun to play with and it is not that heavy. The iMac has a new hybrid storage system, a Fusion Drive option that combines both 128GB of flash memory with a one or three terabyte hard drive, for faster performance. It is super-thing, measuring just five millimetres at its edge. The 21.5-inch iMac will be available starting in November at $1,299.

I found my article very interesting because the iPad Mini can fit in one hand opposed to the iPad which needs two hands. The iPad is easily portable and it weighs less and is thinner than the iPad. The iPad Mini has more down loadable softwares. The iMac is only 5 mm at the edges which is really skinny for an computer. The main reason why I chose this article is because of the am,zaing features that the new Apple products possess. The Vancouver Sun iPad Mini and new iMAc unvieled
Apple Store iPad Mini Overview.

My question for the article is How did they make these new pieces of technology? I mean how does Apple aleways come up with new ideas that would wow everyone?

Sixth Sense Technology

I am back with another blog but this time it feautres the amzaing desinger of Sixth Sense Technology, Paranav Mistry. Pranav had created the Six Sense in November 2000, the exact date is unknown. The Sixith Sense is a piece of technology that connects the virtual world to the pysical world. Where one monvement in the physical world would also be shown in the virtual world. He made this wonderful product in country of India. Pranav created this piece of technology becuase he wanted to make the virtual world more pyhiscal. He created the Sixth Sense by taking the two rollers out of a mouse and modifying it to create his technology.

The Sixth Sense is related to IT because it is a piece of technology that could be used to express yourself, arcade or work. Another way the Sixth Sense it related to IT is it helping people in their everyday lives. Technology helps us more than we are aware of for example this blog is a type of technology and it helps us by getting pour thoughts out here for all of you to see.

I found the idea of taking pictures without a camera really intersting. By just making a gesture you could take a picture, so you do not have to carry a camera with you. The idea of turning your hand or any object of all in to a phone where you can make calls from is really amazing to me. Just imagine making a call from any object in a room, is that not brilliant?!?
